It's a mess... whole semester is a mess...
design is a mess... subjects are worse...

Then this, how stupid am I to the wrong assignment file...

it's done now. i can't do anything already...
I'll just have to suffer the consequences due to my stupidity...(which began 2 years ago also...)

Now, my result is hanging by a thread.
NVM... i'll just have to aim to pass.....

I HATE WHAT I'M DOING NOW... >>>ARCHITECTURE

I TRULY UNDERSTAND WHAT IS ARCHI-TORTURE NOW...

Personal life : Is't my problem or your problem?

I  think I have to leave architecture for good. I just cannot cope with it anymore... I cannot take the challenge anymore.

It's frustrating to see my design going nowhere but fail. I'm tired of motivating myself every time after gone for crit sessions with supervisor. I'm all so tired talking but get no respond but just yawning and boring look... I frustrated and got all the harsh comments. Maybe I'll just get a B- this time.

I admit it that I'm a looser and lazy. I'm all burnt out.

Travel & Places : Am I ready? Beijing?

Okay... I have the flight ticket booked, visa approved, and accommodation settled...
I'll be off to China next week!!!

I just have to settle the Great Wall Tour Bus Tour... The thing is I'm not sure weather to go Badaling or Mutianyu... Badaling is nearer to city while Mutianyu is further away which I'm not very comfortable about... All I research over the Internet is that don't be fooled by certain Bus Tour which will only let you have little time at attractions, takes you to lots of Jade shops.... drop you off somewhere and force you to take their Taxi which cost a bomb..... I'm afraid all the above will happen....

But I heard Mutianyu is less crowded compared to Badaling and that's what I want. I don't want my Great Wall Trip to be enjoyable and not having me to squeeze myself around the crowd...

I am in serious dilemma ~

p/s: I was told to be ignorant, don't be fooled by tricky chinese people although  I'm a chinese too ~ so, how am I gonna be smarter than the tricky one?!

Travel & Places : Beijing, to go or not to go

image
Beijing trip clash with my semester!!! How am I going to divide myself into two parts! one in Beijing and one in Uni!

I don’t want to change my flight and travel alone… I WANT TO SPEND THIS BEIJING TRIP WITH MY FAMILY…
Who’s gonna help take my picture if I’m travelling alone…
Who’s gonna share food with me if I’m travelling alone…
 Who’s gonna chit-chat with me when I’m bored…
Although I’m used to travel alone in S’pore but this is different. It’s just different…
Hurrrrrrrrrrrr~~ hopefully my calender won’t be packed with projects and I can skip the Monday studio.

YAY! Got myself a new edition of Nancy Drew game Tomb of the Lost Queen. Adios guys~ I'll be off to Egypt to start my new adventure! Wish me luck~

Judging from the scene which my the game cover is covering my sketches, I am clearly escaping from my design work... Hmm~ whatever!

Digi Limited Edition Prepaid Internet

I've been with Digi prepaid Internet for 6 months already and I'm on my way to my 3rd reload. I found my way to this product when I was approached by yellow dressing salesperson and I immediately purchase it as they was running a special promotion for students. RM5 for a started pack which was selling at RM25 at normal price.

Product Info

This is a data only sim card without any voice, sms, or mms... This suits me as I don't want to sign up for any monthly broadband services. Plus, the monthly quota is 3GB which is a generous amount for me to do internet browsing, lots of Facebook-ing, and some light youtube-ing.

Reload

Reload is normal as most prepaid reload just normal Digi reload coupon selling everywhere. But here's how things work according to new reload validity. So, reload RM100 gives you 100 day validity at RM1/day.

I normally reload RM100 and finished up nicely at around 3GB monthly. Although i sometimes exceed 3GB/month quota. The speed is still at maximum turbo 3G although Digi exercise Fair Usage Policy (FUP).

Speed

I use it with my phone

This prepaid internet is running Turbo 3G network-a bit faster than 3G. which is 384kbps download and 128kbps upload. The speed depends on Digi coverage to your area but mostly it'll vary around that speed. I mostly get maximum speed  at JB, KL, and most city/town area... and I get to watch youtube with really seldom lag.(provided i watch it at phone low quality la~)

When travelling at  PLUS highway or east coast expressway, it's normal to get stucked to GPRS/EDGE speed. (and fb becomes suuuupeeeer slowww......)

What You'll Get

This starter pack comes with 5-days preloaded internet access for you to try out.
There's a sim card  for usage by modem or smartphones.

Conclusion. I'm gonna stick to yellow Digi for now untill... i don't know when.

Fun Food : Homemade Taroball, the failed attempt

Recently I'm very into snowflake and blackball so I've decided to make a taroball version of mine! but....

Well the title tells everything but nonetheless, it was a very promising indication of success in the near future. I was just trying to console myself due to the failure.

I used the wrong flour and turned out to be sweet potato glutinous rice ball. ‘番薯汤圆’

Recipe
sweet potato
rice flour
sugar
hot water

 Here's what I did

1. Cut the sweet potatoes in to cubes (smaller size make them easy to cook). Next dump them into a pot of boiling water and cook them until soft.

2. Get those into a bowl and smash'em till it become mashed sweet potato.

 3. Get a deep container and mix it with rice flour and (sugar+hot water solution) added in bit by bit. I used my hand to give them a few knit and roll till they became a dough.

I did't use any proportion. I just dd more water if it's too dry, add more flour if it's too wet.

4. I try to imitate the taroballs shape, start by rolling a few long rolls of dough and cut them into bite size or anything. (the larger the size, the longer it'll take to cook them)

5. I keep them in fridge as I prepare to boil a pot of water. When the water comes to a boil, all the taroballs goes in until they get cooked and float.

float~ float~

6. Ran them through cold water for a short while and finished.

7. Mum prepared some sweet potatoes soup and I add those in to it.

kid size

The kids made some and they loved it. least it's still lovable.

Conclusion: I used the wrong flour and it turned out to be normal chinese glutinous rice balls. Gummy...gummy...chewy... but not as solid chew like Taiwanese taroballs.

So guys! don't use rice flour to make Taroballs but use sweet potato flour! (need to do some groceries shopping to find sweet potato flour)

Travel & Places : Weekend Trip to Kuala Lumpur

I spent my last weekend visiting Kuala Lumpur. It’s just great visit Kuala Lumpur once in awhile because there’s always something to do in KL. Most Malaysians are a fan of mall culture, so I’ve been doing some mall hopping in Bukit Bintang area with my sis and a friend.

Three of us had different mission in KL.
My sis: shopping
Friend: attend convocation
Me: spent a weekend away from home (to escape from house chores)

We hopped on a morning bus to KL and arrived at noon. Our first stop was Kenanga Wholesale City. There’s a lot of ladies clothes selling at reasonable price around RM20~ for a dress maybe? around that price. Here’s how things work there, example purchase 3 pieces of clothes of the same type and get discounts. Anyway, these bargains only suits people running business…shop…or anything like that. Maybe, get a few friends to purchase the same clothes together and get discounts. :)
Thought: There’s chances to find some nice cheap stuff here. But for me, I’d rather go to Times Square as the price range are the same and there’s a lot more choices. I would say we wasted a whole afternoon there.

hazelnut chocolate milk tea. my favourite.

At evening, we decided to grab a cup of Chatime and walk back to Times Square because the streets were congested and there’s no chances to flag down a cab. Anyway, it was a pleasant walk as the sun is setting down.
By night, everything did’t turned out well. Porridge for dinner to save tummy for supper at Jalan Alor which later the plan fell of because I just can’t resist to gravity of bed. Also, I entered a bookstore for too long and forgot that snowflake is closing down. S**T!

At least I’ve discovered a convenient shop selling a bunch of magazines at 70% off~ I bought some cute lonely planet cityscape books at rm5 each. Some good info to pick up for my project presentation next semester.

The next day we woke up really late and checked out at 1pm. Head to Sg.Wang plaza to store our backpack in locker beside MCD and continue shopping in Berjaya Times Square.

Found some real cheap sandals there, but can’t find any bags i like. So, I’ve given up looking for bags and stood at the concourse to check out the RHB spell-it-right.
Later that evening we left KL and head back home with 2 large bags full of clothes and bags: which are not mine but my sis. :(

Travel & Places : San Francisco... what i see you from internet

I was browsing the Internet today and i stumbled across a picture of San Francisco.

image

Golden Gate Bridge- the icon of San Francisco. The orange-red colour was meant to be temporary coat to protect steel from corrosion but later found out that the colour contrast well with the waters, complement topography of surroundings, and visible during fog. (for safety of ships)

image

Easily recognizable old San Francisco cable-car going downhill with spectacular view of the bay. The world’s only cable car system still in operational. I like the idea of trams in city. Cars…buses…trains… all share the same road making the streets looking very lively. Classic trams that glide swiftly in modern city add character to San Francisco streets.

image

The largest Chinatown compared to elsewhere. The Chinese fortune cracker was invented in San Francisco by Japanese Hagiwara family and then mass produced in Chinatown.

image

The place where to find Victorian and Edwardian housed with modern skyline as backdrop. San Francisco has 14,000 of these houses with architecture details painted with bright colours to enhance them are also known as “Painted Ladies”

And~ There’s a lovely song for San Francisco also…Here’s the lyrics. Do you know how to sing??
Scott McKenzie
San Francisco (Be Sure to Wear Some Flowers in Your Hair)
If you’re going to San Francisco
Be sure to wear some flowers in your hair
If you’re going to San Francisco
You’re gonna meet some gentle people there

For those who come to San Francisco
Summertime will be a love-in there
In the streets of San Francisco
Gentle people with flowers in their hair

All across the nation such a strange vibration
People in motion
There’s a whole generation with a new explanation
People in motion people in motion

For those who come to San Francisco
Be sure to wear some flowers in your hair
If you come to San Francisco
Summertime will be a love-in there

If you come to San Francisco
Summertime will be a love-in there
Here’s a video below ;)

Personal life : My new hobby

image

I am getting addicted to radio drama these days. I find them really good time killer whenever I have nothing to do, travelling or even before bed.
It all started a month back when I am rushing for my studio final project. I NEED drama to keep me awake all night when doing my work but I am tired of dividing my laptop screen into two parts, one for AutoCAD and another for movies. Plus, it’s very distracting as I found myself spending more time in watching movie instead of completing my work!
So, i looked for this thing called “988广播剧”. When I was a small kid(still in primary school), I’ll see my mom take a break from house chores at noon every mon-fri to listen to radio drama. She’ll sit right beside the radio at the corner of the kitchen for half an hour. I never knew that radio drama could be so addictive…
I started with one and another and another….. and it never stops till I’ve finished my final project and portfolio.
Currently I’m following 988广播剧《婚姻密码》

It’s about a wedding with a revenge plan and covering up secrets instead of love and affection. Super super like! final episode coming!

New

A new one! new interface is nice too!
